Why 3D Printing?

PlugMinder is manufactured using 3D printing technology, allowing us to offer a more flexible, adaptable and practical product range than would usually be possible with traditional mass-production methods.

Instead of being restricted by expensive mould tooling, we can produce different cover sizes, depths and specialist designs directly from digital models — making it possible to respond to real-world socket, plug and installation requirements.

Flexible digital manufacturing

More adaptable than traditional moulded covers

3D printing allows PlugMinder to be produced in a wider range of practical formats, without the restrictions and costs normally associated with traditional injection-mould tooling.

More sizes and shapes

Because each part is produced from a digital design, PlugMinder can be made in different depths, styles and formats to suit a wider range of sockets, plugs and installations.

No expensive mould tooling

Traditional injection moulding usually requires costly tooling for every new shape. 3D printing allows practical design variations to be produced without that upfront tooling cost.

Custom designs made practical

For non-standard sockets, plugs, adaptors or installation requirements, designs can often be adapted digitally and manufactured quickly in small quantities.

Designed digitally, produced flexibly

Traditional moulded products usually need dedicated tooling before production can begin, which can make different sizes, depths and specialist versions expensive to produce.

Because PlugMinder is designed digitally and manufactured using 3D printing, practical variations can be produced directly from the CAD model without creating a separate mould for every version.

Custom covers made more practical

Not every socket, plug or adaptor fits a standard cover. Because PlugMinder is designed digitally and manufactured using 3D printing, custom or adapted covers can often be produced for non-standard installations.

Understanding 3D printed finish

PlugMinder components are made using FDM 3D printing, which builds each part layer by layer. As a result, the surface may show fine layer lines, subtle texture variations or a small visible seam position. These are normal characteristics of the process and do not affect how the product fits, locks or performs.

Refined printed texture

The layer-by-layer process creates a clean, fine-lined finish with a subtle textured surface that reflects how each PlugMinder part is made.

Neat start-and-finish seam

A small seam may be visible where each printed layer starts and finishes. This is a normal part of the FDM printing process and does not affect performance.

Subtle surface variation Small texture differences may appear depending on the shape and orientation of the printed part.
Normal seam position A small seam may be visible where each printed layer starts and finishes.
